ENTWINED EXPERIENCE: FINDING YOUR WAY INTO LIFE AT JW

Last January, we shared new language to describe our identity and calling at Jacob’s Well. The Divine Entwined describes the way God engages us in Jesus Christ and invites us to participate in his life—a life of presence (showing up), generosity (sharing), creativity (risking), transformation (being changed), and hope (acting).

To help us grow in these ways, we are beginning a three-week immersive experience, concluding in a Friday night, Saturday morning retreat, that will take place three times over the course of a year (June, September, January). This experience will cover the following topics in relational, experiential, and informational ways: Entwined in God’s Story, Entwined with God’s People, Entwined in God’s Work, Entwined at Jacob’s Well.

Who should sign up? We are so excited about this opportunity and its importance to our life together that we want everybody at Jacob’s Well to participate sometime over the next couple of years!

Facilitator:Tim Keel

MARRIAGE WORKSHOP

THIS WORKSHOP HAS REACHED CAPACITY AND THE SIGNUPS ARE NOW CLOSED. We hope to offer this class in January each year.

This 2-day workshop will focus on the basic components of romantic relationship and help couples identify the things that get in the way of feeling connected to each other. At times, we all become lost or confused in our relationships, and we often get stuck in negative patterns of responding to each other. In this workshop, we will look at how these patterns develop and how to create an exit out of them. This class will help individuals better understand their own emotional responses and needs, and the responses and needs of their spouse. The goal is to open conversations that will help deepen trust and intimacy.

Date: Saturday, FEB 2, 9am-6pm and Sunday, FEB 3, 9am-3pm
Facilitators: Bethany Butler Myers, LCSW and Trey Hill, Ph.D. Both are certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy
Cost: $250 per couple (scholarships available, contact Jessi Marcus at jessim@jacobswellchurch.org)
Childcare: Childcare is not available
Class Size: Limited to 14 couples; there will be a waiting list once the class fills up

SMALL GROUPS

Jacob’s Well Small Groups gather in locations around the city (usually in homes) from September through May, with a break during the holiday season. Participants are asked to make a firm commitment to attend the weekly gatherings, which generally take place on a weekday evening (with some exceptions).

The optimal time to get involved in one of our Small Groups is during our general signups which take place twice a year: in August for the Fall session (September – December), and during early January for the Winter/Spring session (January – May). Depending on your schedule and the availability of a group, it is sometimes possible to place newcomers outside these general signup periods.
