URGENT NEED: Donations for Migrants

URGENT NEED: DONATIONS FOR MIGRANTS AT THE US/MEXICO BORDER

In response to the great need at the US/Mexico border with the influx of Haitian migrants, a team from Jacob’s Well and Youthfront has been invited by representatives of the UN Refugee Agency, stationed in Ciudad Acuña, to deliver critical supplies and investigate opportunities for further support. While it is our aim to provide physical relief, we’re also going to be present to individuals, listening and standing in solidarity with those who are hurting.

In an effort to quickly mobilize high priority items before the weather turns cold, we are inviting you to participate in donating the following items:

The following items can be previously used if in good condition.
– Camping tents
– Sleeping mats or cots
– Sleeping bags
– Blankets
– Bed sheets
– Winter wear (coats, hats, gloves, etc.)
– Towels
– Portable heaters
– Small propane stoves
– Sandals/flip flops- adults
– Table games, cards, simple kids’ activities (non-English friendly)
The following items need to be newly purchased.
– Bars of soap
– Feminine pads
– Diapers- all sizes
– Socks- kids and adults
– Underwear- kids and adults, small and medium
Additionally, we will be accepting monetary donations via Visa Gift Card only which will go towards supplying the team with gas and supplies as they travel to the border.
