Our new logo plus more from the Congregational Meeting

On Sunday, October 20, Jacob’s Well held a congregational meeting in the sanctuary after each of our gatherings. Tim Keel shared about our ongoing thoughts on the development of our space and our future direction. We are going to begin using a OneFund concept to help encourage participation and growing our overall culture of generosity at Jacob’s Well.

In addition, Isaac Anderson presented an opportunity for a local after school program. You can read more below.

Lastly, Tim shared about the work of our branding team led by Nate Lewis and consisting of Ian DavidsonAmanda RaymundoLee BurnerJannele Mastin,Maureen Lunn, and Tim Keel. (Custom lettering was done by Sam Lewis) You’ll begin to see the new marks around JW in the coming weeks.

Rosedale Ridge: Looking for an after-school program coordinator

Rosedale Ridge is an apartment complex near Jacob’s Well (in KCK), and is home to dozens of smart, creative, and energetic kids. The RR community is looking for someone to direct their on-site after-school program, and though JW isn’t responsible for hiring, we’re trying to help the oversight committee by recommending a potential candidate.
This is a five-days-a-week, Monday-through-Friday position: a couple hours each afternoon following school (about 4 pm to 6 pm), with another 5-10 hours of off-site prep time built in, for a total of 15-20 hours per week. The position carries a stipend of $1,500 a month.
The position will involve the following:
* Planning diverse and creative after-school activities — educational (like tutoring) and recreational (outdoor games, cooking, music activities, etc.) — for somewhere between 20 – 45 kids
* Creating an environment that’s highly structured, stimulating, and safe (i.e. dealing with potential behavioral issues, including bullying)
* Creating a framework for training and overseeing volunteers to help with the program
* Additionally, Jacob’s Well would love to see this person create a bridge between JW and Rosedale by looking for ways to invite other JWers to help with the after-school program
If you have questions, or are interested in discussing this opportunity further, please contact Isaac Anderson.
