Women’s Forum — Next Steps in Discipleship for Women at Jacob’s Well
Tuesday, February 18th, 7:00pm
Jacob’s Well Sanctuary
We hope you will make this evening a priority! We’ll be sharing the new framework for women’s discipleship at Jacob’s Well, casting vision for how you can be involved, sharing some resources to help you get started, and hearing a few JW women share their stories and experiences as disciples of Jesus. If you are interested in creating, developing and participating in pathways for women to better connect with other women at JW, then this is an event you won’t want to miss. Childcare provided for those who RSVP to Kristen by Sunday, Feb. 16th.
Second Saturday – Rosedale Ridge
On Saturday, February 8 from 10am-12pm we will go up to Rosedale Ridge community center to play games, playdoh and puzzles & read books with elementary school aged kids. I will also provide healthy, filling snacks. There is so much violence and not many positive things going on up at Rosedale Ridge and we thought this would be a fun way to get Jacob’s Well involvement going. It will be a great chance to get to know the kids, and give them some love & attention that they are so desperate for!
If you are interested, contact Ellen Teran or you can text/call at 913.972.5225.
Women’s Bible Study — Philippians
Begins Tuesday, February 25th, 7:00p
* An 8-week study led by Jessi Marcus & Kristen McClain
* CLICK HERE to register, or in the foyer before & after Sunday worship gatherings, by Sun., Feb. 23rd.
* Cost: $6 for book (N.T. Wright’s for Everyone Bible Study guide)
Things don’t always go the way we intend. It’s easy to feel discouraged because what we hope for is badly thwarted, or because people make life difficult. Paul, writing to the Philippians from prison, certainly knew what it was like to have plans interrupted. But he maintains robust confidence in God’s overruling power, even when everything seems to be going wrong. These eight studies will help us learn from Paul the art of seeing God’s purposes working out through problems and difficulties, and will deepen our own confidence in God’s power.
Jacob’s Well Easter Choir
Love to sing? Then you should totally come be a part of our Easter Choir! That’s right, we are trying something new this year and bringing together a choir to join the music team on Easter Sunday, and we’d love for you to come join. All adults and teens ages 14+ are welcome, and music-reading skills are not required. We do need you to be able to commit to 2 rehearsals beforehand, and sing at all three gatherings on Easter Sunday morning at 7, 9 and 11am. (We promise to provide coffee!). If you’re interested in learning more, CLICK HERE to sign up and we will email you more information about rehearsals, music, etc. So spread the word to your friends, and come join!
