Adult Sunday School: The Epistle of James
June 4 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
All too often we experience the life of faith from the perspective of a sundered heart, trying to maintain or resolve the tensions caused by competing loyalties. Will we serve the Kingdom of God, or the Empires of the modern world? Will we choose the path of hospitality, generosity, and love, or will we fight to maintain control out of fear, suspicion and cynicism? This summer, join our adult Sunday School series where we’ll be seeking to mend our hearts and lives in dialogue with the Epistle of James and it’s words of encouragement and hope for our (un)divided hearts.
Meetings take place Sunday mornings from 9-10am. No prior knowledge of the text is necessary and there is no required reading outside of the weekly meetings. Each session will consist of a brief introduction to the weekly passage, individual time to reflect on a short commentary excerpt over the weekly text, and small group discussion over these readings. This is a great way to get to know others in our congregation while growing in our knowledge of the scriptures – please join us anytime, and signup here to receive more information and communications about the series.
