Jacob’s Well is partnering with Youthfront’s expanding ministry and presence in the Argentine Neighborhood, a largely immigrant community in Kansas City, KS. There are a number of ways to get involved:
Shared Table – The shared table experience is a pathway to foster relationships across social and cultural boundaries in order to “know” the other and be known as we live out the work of reconciliation together. Families living in the Argentine neighborhood would like to invite you to share a meal with them in their home. More info and signup genius here.
Snack Shack KC – The Snack Shack is an after school hangout space for students in the Argentine neighborhood. There are needs to serve as a cashier, friend or youth leader as they launch a new youth group out. Download this PDF for more info, and contact Jason Flewellen (jflewellen@youthfront.com) to get involved.
Food Distribution
The second Wednesday of each month neighborhood volunteers come together to serve 250-350 local families at the Franklin Center. Harvesters drops off around 12 pallets of food and everyone gets to work sorting food and serving other neighbors. It’s a team effort and a lot of fun! Stop by some 2nd Wednesday to help out, receive some food, or both! Shifts are from 12:30pm – 2:30pm or 2:30pm – 4:30pm, or stop by for as long as you can! No need to sign up to serve, just show up!
