Fall Retreat 2016
It’s our annual Fall Retreat to the Flint Hills! Every fall our youth group takes a weekend to step away from our normal crazy routine back home and experience what God has for us in his creation with one another. We spend time playing, worshipping, learning and growing together. There will be canoes, bonfires, swimming, balloon launching and cowing.
We will meet at Jacob’s Well at 5PM on Friday and return around 12:30PM on Sunday so families can pick up following the morning worship gatherings.
Cost is $50. Registration is open: SIGN UP ONLINE.
Youth Room – 11:00AM
Sunday mornings are time for our middle schoolers to worship, connect and learn together and with the entire community. We meet across the street from Jacob’s Well (1501 w 42nd St) on the main level. On the last Sunday of each month, we pause our normal gathering, and join the main worship gathering across the street because we value our students worshipping with the adult community. Here’s what we are discussing this semester…
September: “Why is it so awkward to talk about Jesus with my friends?”
One of the toughest roads to navigate for middle schoolers is the changing friend landscape they’re encountering each day. How does our faith influence not only the friends we make, but how we interact with them? And why is it so stinkin’ awkward to talk to them about Jesus?!
October: Jesus for President
Since it is an election year, we see an opportunity to discuss politics with our middle schoolers from a Christian perspective. In this series, students will learn Jesus is bigger than any political party, that our politics do not ultimately define us, and what issues Jesus cared about.
November: All the Saints Adore Thee
Each November our church community will spend time looking at various individuals who are key in the story of the Church throughout history. This series will run in concert with the adult gathering.
During Advent, we invite middle schoolers to join the rest of the community in worship in the main sanctuary. We value intergenerational worship and believe Advent ought to be spent together as a whole community.
