Human beings are created in the image of God. God’s desire for us is our wholeness, the Hebrew Scriptures call this shalom. This wholeness incorporates our physical, mental, emotional, and relational being. This is our hope at Jacob’s Well in the way that we participate in pastoral care, to move towards God’s desire for shalom. We all experience brokenness and sometimes we are in crisis.
There are several ways to access Pastoral Care at Jacob’s Well.
Pastoral Care Support - If you would like to meet with someone on staff in order to have a safe and confidential space to talk and receive prayer, contact Jessi Marcus or Philip Lesniewski.
Counseling Ministry - Jacob’s Well offers affordable counseling through Mid-America Nazarene Counseling Intern, Anthony Dummermuth. There are a limited number of counseling spaces available for both individuals and couples. If you would like to see the counseling intern, please fill out this confidential online intake form. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify. For more information, contact Jessi Marcus.
Support Groups - There are two support groups that meet throughout the week at Jacob’s Well that serve not only our church, but also the broader Kansas City Community.
Shame No More is a group of men led by Tom Ryan who are seeking shalom for sexual brokenness or sexual addiction. If you would like more information about this group, please contact Tom Ryan or Philip Lesniewski.
The Miracle Group is a Narcotics Anonymous support group that meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the basement of Jacob’s Well. You may enter through the south-side entrance to the basement from the parking lot behind the church.
Story-telling - Human beings are relational beings. The core of God’s very being is relational: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are created in that image and are made to be in relationship with God, with creation, and with other human beings. For this reason, at Jacob’s Well we believe that we have been called to co-journey along with others, rejoicing when they rejoice and mourning with others as they mourn. Therefore, we hope to foster a sense of awareness and caring for one another in this community in an effort to love each other with the incarnational love of Jesus. Here are some co-journeying stories from within our church community. If you would like to share your own experience of co-journeying at Jacob’s Well, contact Jessi Marcus or Tim Bridgham.
